Summary: 

Windows' Attributes are Flexible in areas that are trivial in nature, and FIXED where it Could make Life easier. 

Some are down right STUPID!

(1)   Allow Larger and more Flexible menus when loading or saving files: 
Scrolling in a small menu window is silly; at least give me a "grab" point and allow me to EXTEND the menu. 

Cool Edit has Path history, making for quicker file finding! 
 

(3)  Closed any windows you didn't want Closed Lately?
(4)   When finding files: 

        Allow default file order to be presetable: Name, Date, Type, etc. 

        When selecting file jkl.*; allow next selection to start at jkl.* or Not. (AMIGA like) 

        Allow loading multiple files: use of  "ctrl" key. 
 

(5)   Control Panel: 

 One Stop Shopping: Have a SINGLE controlling SETTING for each DEVICE!!! 

Eliminate multiple controlling entities, e.g., Under the Control Panel's Device Manager: 
"System--Ports," System--Modem," "System--Adaptor;" and under the Control Panel: "Modem," "Network," and finally "Dial-Up Networking,"
